I think that teaching is one of the most, if not the most, important parts of our job as philosophers. We have the opportunity to inspire students to think about things they never have thought about, to teach them how to argue well—and how to charitably understand others’ arguments. Teaching is always a humbling experience for me, and I’m sure I have plenty to improve on, but I love doing it.
I have been a teaching assistant at MIT and Tulane, as well as for Philosophy in an Inclusive Key (PIKSI)-Logic at Northeastern. I have TA’d for classes across the philosophical spectrum: Intro to Ethics (Tulane), Intro to Logic (Tulane), Minds and Machines (Tulane), Paradox and Infinity (MIT), Meta-ethics (MIT), Classics of Western Philosophy (MIT), and Conditionals (grad seminar, MIT).
